‘Barrier’ is about what happens when humans try to improve on nature’s designs without fully understanding what is going on in the relationships they are modifying. The stop motion animation in this film deals with Acacia trees in Kenya where, in an effort to save the trees from being eaten by giraffes, the trees were fenced in. These fences inadvertently destroyed the symbiotic relationship between the trees and the giraffes.
